I read the first volume of Diary of a Whimpy Kid, a book written by Jeff Kiney and released in 2008. It is a fictional story about a young boy named Greg. All along the book, he tells his story as if he were writing in his diary. He describes his family life with his older punk-lover brother Rodrick and his last summer holidays playing video games. We also learn about the tragic time when kids grow old and discover the secrets of puberty, a strange disease Greg’s best friend hopes not to catch. There are many hand-made drawings to illustrate what Greg tells us so the story is easy to understand

The book I read was entitled Mac Beth and the Creature from Hell.In the cover, we can see one of the main characters who is carrying a dagger and there are also claws, maybe the claws of a mouse that appears later in the story. Mac Beth is a Scottish lord and one of King Duncan’s most loyal generals. There are other characters such as Banquo who is Mac Beth’s friend, the mouse who is a demon from hell and the three witches who see a prophecy about MacBeth becoming King of Scotland

I chose a comic strip entitled Steaming up the Mississippi, a Lucky Luke adventure written by Morris and Goscinny. The cover shows the main character and his fellow friend Joly Jumper crossing the Mississippi. A crocodile and a steamboat named the Daisy Bell are also in the picture. Lucky Luke is a lonesome cowboy we can easily recognize with his hat, his red bandana, his boots and he is always chewing a straw. The plot starts with a fight in a saloon. In order to stop the fight, the two captains decide to do a bet; the winner will be the first to reach Minneapolis by boat

I decided to discover the adventures of the famous Gaul, Asterix and his best friend Obelix. The story takes place far from their village as they are sent on a mission to help Edifis, an architect from Alexandria, in charge of building the most wonderful palace for Cleopatra. He has only 3 months to take up the challenge. The famous magic potion will be useful!
